Hi,

An excellent post – hits all the right chords, and a plesure to read.

For me, point 2 is key – ‘do or do not, there is no try’. I have this quote printed out on the wall above my desk as a daily reminder. As Project Managers we need to do what we say we will do, and be firm enough to say no sometimes. If we say we will try, we risk customers loosing faith in us – we need to do, or not do, there is no try!

I am convinced that these quotes apply to collaborators as well, and not just PMs. So, a post is in the making, but may take a while.

Thanks for your tips. I enjoyed them so much, I simply had to blog about them. My favorite is the fourth one about the “can do” attitude when facing big challenges, but you are right. A successful project manager really needs the whole set of skills. Best regards, Vicky
