Web 2.0 Expo: Track for Project Managers
San Francisco and Bay Area project managers, have you considered attending the Web 2.0 Expo?

No, the event won’t feature PM speakers, new methodologies or project management tools. In fact, the Web 2.0 technology event has nothing explicitly to do with project management. So why do we bring it up? Because this Thursday, May 6, 2010, the Web 2.0 Expo in San Francisco has a track of sessions devoted to Community.
Community, collaboration, communication, consensus-building, leadership, sparking dialogue, facilitating sharing… does this sound just a little bit like the role of a project manager? Is it a very big step to think that project managers and PMOs can add value to their organizations and their client’s organizations by fostering community?
True, Web 2.0 is typically a venue for organizations looking for innovative new tools and ideas, and for a last minute suggestion the tickets aren’t cheap – but we encourage you to check it out, especially if you are a leader in your organization’s project management office. Expo passes are available for free with the right code, but for the track of educational sessions on community, you’ll have to have a conference pass.
You can find Thursday’s line-up of community sessions here. We’re especially interested in “Creating a Culture of Sharing,” the session featuring speakers from wikiHow, Creative Commons and the CEO of ArtisTech.
